The meeting came after Flybe announced six new routes out of London City Airport, including to Exeter Airport, as part of a five-year deal.
Hugo Swire commented:
‘I was delighted to attend this morning’s breakfast. Only a little while ago Flybe seemed to be in trouble but I am pleased that the company’s fortunes have been turned around as evidenced by their welcome expansion of routes across the UK’.
Mr Swire continued:
‘I am particularly delighted that Flybe have launched this new Exeter-London route which will make life much easier for travellers, particularly businesspeople’.
Mr Swire concluded:
‘We are proud of having Flybe in East Devon; they are an important presence in our community, not least because they are one of the biggest employers in the constituency’.
