After a year-long campaign for the new Exmouth and Exeter East constituency, our candidate David Reed was successful in his bid for the parliamentary seat.
On a difficult night for the Conservative Party, we were delighted to have convinced enough voters that the Conservatives can best deliver on the local issues that matter most to residents.
Thank you to all those who delivered leaflets, took calls, stuffed envelopes, donated and voted to make this victory possible.
Following the declaration on Friday 5th July, David Reed MP said:
"It really is the greatest privilege to be elected as the first Member of Parliament for our new constituency, Exmouth and Exeter East. The weight of the responsibility already weighs very heavily on my shoulders and I make the commitment to you that I will do my best to not let you down."
